Two newsletters in one week, wow 🤩
Hello again dear friends.
It’s way too hot to work in the studio anymore so I thought I’d do a little product photography and catch up with you!
This little post is all about celebrating the rose. My constant source of inspiration and my favourite flower (garden grown only, it has to have that old romance to it and smell heavenly too). I wanted to share a little achievement of mine with you too, it’s quite a biggy, something every artist dreams of and is one of the good things that has come out of being in lockdown. I’M FINALLY A FULL TIME ARTIST and it’s all you my loyal customers that have made it possible. I started learning pottery at night classes as I wanted to do something just for me. During the day I was running my floristry styling business and still had some hairdressing customers. Yes, I used to be a hairdresser… USED to be, love that, used! I had a salon for over ten years and that was years ago too. I then carried on hairdressing from home until we hit lockdown and it all had to stop. Frankly I was relieved! Being in lockdown meant I could throw all my energy into my art and ceramics, I just wanted to create lovely things, the fact that you seem to like collecting them is utterly amazing and I have to pinch myself, thank you so much, without you I couldn’t of done it and wouldn’t be sat here now writing this newsletter.
I’m working on a limited edition design to celebrate, its still in prototype mode but roses are my main influence, I’m saying no more but I cant wait till I can finally share it with you. The design will keep me busy for a few weeks and there may be tears haha. I shall only be making 10 pieces and each one will be numbered.
Whilst you are waiting I’ve made this sample wobbly coffee cup, there is only this one.
It has a generous handle, my signature delicate pink ombré stripe and is finished in a lovely matt glaze which just makes you want to keep fondling it! (Yes really).
I just noticed I still have clay up my wrist. I’ve just popped these two little milk jugs on the website too. Still a firm favourite!
I love seeing your pictures over on Instagram so don’t forget to tag me in them and I shall share them on my stories too.
Enjoy the sunshine x
